Battle of the Books

Battle of the Books is a voluntary reading enrichment program for students in grades 4-6. The purpose is to encourage students to read good books and have a fun in-school competition at the end of the school year. This is a national program, and a new list of books and questions is sent to librarians across the country each year. Students form teams of 4-5 students and they divide up the book list to read throughout the year. Students do not have to read every book on the list but the more books each person on the team reads, the better chance they have when answering questions in a battle.  

2025/2026 Battle of the Books Competition will be held in May 2026.
