St. Ann Catholic School faculty and staff wishes our families a very Happy Thanksgiving. May each of you enjoy this celebration with your family full of love, laughter and peace.

As we approach winter months with the potential for inclement weather, I want to remind you of our guidelines regarding winter weather closings for St. Ann Catholic School.

After having taught STREAM from a cart last year, I’m happy to say the STREAM lab has been brought back to life and is once again bustling with promising and innovative engineers ready to be challenged.

It is hard to believe, in the month of November, we are already thinking about enrollment for next year! We are anticipating a great turn out for our Pre-K and Kindergarten Open House this Sunday!

October has been a month to remember! From our Fall Festival Fiesta, to The Little Mermaid, Jr., our School Carnival, Conferences, Faith Family & House activities, to Halloween Celebrations, it has truly been a blessing to come together to celebrate as a St. Ann Catholic School community!

My name is Paige Davis, and I am the new Technology teacher. This is my first-year teaching and my first year at St. Ann Catholic School. I graduated from Bishop Ward High School in Kansas City, Kansas and have a Bachelor’s degree in Film and Media from Avila University in Kansas City, Missouri. Currently, I am working on my Master’s degree in Elementary Education at Emporia State University.

Every October schools around the nation choose this month to celebrate Bullying Prevention. During this month, schools have two main goals: first, to create a safe and supportive school by educating and informing its students about ways to prevent bullying. And second, to create an environment of kindness, acceptance, and inclusion.

Fall is officially here, and I could not be more excited for this year’s Fall Festival! I am so impressed with the creativity behind some of the packages available for bidding! A holidome in your backyard (item#27)?! The Happy Home package (item #18) also definitely caught my eye!

A tiger ticket is an online (virtual) raffle ticket. You can purchase tiger tickets for $25. There is no limit on the number of tickets you can buy, however, only 300 tickets will be sold. It feels so good to be back and seeing students and staff in the hallways of St Ann Catholic School again. This week has finally felt more normal and I am enjoying handing out icepacks and band-aids!

As a school counselor I will be able to see students in the classroom setting, individually, and in small groups. I will be giving monthly/bi-monthly classroom lessons to each grade level. We cover many different topics in our classroom lessons like: managing our emotions, friendships, time management, stress/calming techniques, study skills, setting goals, self regulation.

St. Ann PTO is hosting a fun filled evening of food, games & excitement leading up to the Chiefs vs. Raven's Game on Sept. 19. Ticket Prices are $35 per Mother & Son Pair with $10 for each additional son.

It is hard to believe we are already wrapping up our second full week of school! As students return next week, we will begin MAP (Measure of Academic Progress) testing for grades 1st - 8th in Math, Reading, and Language Arts.
